Sr. Web Administrator

2009 – Present

Coding was upgraded to include capability of performing monetary transactions and connections to APIs along with PHP functionality. When the opportunity was presented, responsibilities expanded to performing chief database administrator duties in MySQL and administering/maintaining the company email server. With permission, took initiative to complete a much desired Wiki for company documentation and forums for customer service. Marketing achievements included a new branding strategy which included new logos, website, brochures, marketing plan and flyers.

Web Services

2006 – 2009

Advanced from Web Assistant to Web Developer to Web Programmer and finally to Web Systems Administrator. Accelerated learning skills were utilized in this position as the need for understanding new technologies was required. Key examples of improvements made were bringing previous code up to W3C standards and increases in website security to prevent unwanted intrusions and poisoning. Lead development responsibilities included but were not limited to JavaScript, CSS, XHTML/DHTML, XML, Java, JSP, Tomcat, Apache and Search Engine Optimization for four separate corporate sites and their conversion to an updated web-based programming language.

Duties also extended to technical support and service phone calls for account holders, new customers and current employees in regards to the website where striving for service excellence was highly emphasized. Achievements include the implementation of several targeted sub-sites and implementation of a new customized, configured, updated and robust search engine for product location and customer navigation. This position also allowed for valuable experience with the IBM I-Series, DB2 database structures, SQL queries and CL language.

Student Worker IV

2005 to 2006

Participated in training all newly hired student staff who were to work directly under the Assistant Director and Research Economist, in addition to preparing crucial economic information utilizing library and internet research. Responsibilities also included proofing publications and preparing publications for distribution. Worked with sensitive confidential economic information (National Institutes of Health confidentiality certified). Designed a flyer to help advertise the publications compiled and circulated through the center.

Children’s Book Illustrator

2003 to 2004

Was responsible for the full color rendering of all illustrations within the book, including design and visual story-flow. Had to be self-motivated and supervised with the graphics and 2D design of visuals.

Website Administrator

2000 – 2003

Responsible for moderating forums, customer service and updating code. Worked closely with the server administrator to optimize throughput and throttle resources for optimal client experience.

Website Architect Contractor

2001-2002

Chief contract web site architect for clients of Sotik Inc. Responsibilities included project management, code optimization, cross browser compatibility, graphic design, navigation architecting, implemented improvements for flow and structure as well as search engine optimization and keywords.

Webmaster
